My first visit to Rome occurred when I was just 17 years old. Two school chums and I made a commitment to do a European tour that originated in London a year after we graduated high school. The entire trip took 28 days and included an overnight stop in Rome. I’ll never forget the first time I saw the iconic sights of the Vatican, Coliseum, and the Pantheon. On our tenth anniversary my life partner, Bill and I visited Rome in 1998. This was my first time returning in over 25 years. The fashions had changed but the icons had not. And that’s what makes Rome the eternal city.
